As trivial as it may seem, the location of the apostrophe in the title ‘Mother’s Day’ is not only important, but recorded in law by US President Woodrow Wilson following the recommendation of founder Anna Jarvis who “was specific about the location of the apostrophe; it was to be a singular possessive, for each family to honour their mother, not a plural possessive commemorating all mothers in the world.” (Louisa Taylor, Canwest News Service, 2008).

So ‘Mother’s Day’ it is then and we couldn’t agree with the sentiment more.
