Bordeaux Rouge Chateau La Pilar Appellation Cotes de Duras Controlee 2005
Bordeaux Rouge Chateau La Pilar Appellation Cotes de Duras Controlee 2005 : (close) Situated on the hilltops and south facing slopes, bordering the Bordeaux appellation, the vineyards of Cotes de Duras are in the heart of the Aquitaine region. Chateau La Pilar was one of the first French wines to gain appellation status in 1937. This wine has a subtle fruity bouquet, an elegant fresh and balanced palate with a long finish. A good compliment to any meat.

Pinot Grigio Il Cantico 2007
Pinot Grigio Il Cantico 2007 : (close) Pinot Grigio is now a very popular wine in the UK and has been described as the ‘new Chardonnay’. After the harvest, the grapes are left to macerate on the skins for a few days, and fermentation lasts for 16 to18 days at a temperature of 17 degrees. Cold fermentation brings out more flavour than the traditional warmer fermentation. The wine is pale yellow/green and clear and bright in the glass. Though not wine to be taken too seriously, this is soft and easy drinking, making it the perfect party wine or just to enjoy when friends call.

Sauvignon Blanc Chateau de la Blanche Appellation Cote de Duras Controlee 2007
Sauvignon Blanc Chateau de la Blanche Appellation Cote de Duras Controlee 2007: (close) This is a ‘Lutte Raisonnee’ estate. Lutte Raisonnee means ‘the reasoned struggle’ and is a movement which attempts to manage disease and pests with a minimum use of chemicals and uses practices for sustainable viticulture. The white wine is produced on clay-limestone soils and is of 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It is crisp, fresh and long with the typical gooseberry bouquet, and long fresh finish with superb balanced acidity. The white wine is made from the 2007 vintage – disappointing for red wines, but absolutely outstanding for white wines. This wine is quite delicious.
