Rioja red wines, with their rich tones of strawberry and vanilla, are an absolute favourite with us for their taste and versatility. To carry the ‘Reserva’ name, the wine must be at least five years old and have spent a minimum of one year in oak barrels. We have chosen this branded wooden box for true aficionados – because one bottle just isn’t enough!

Rioja Reserva Dominio de Ugarte 2003
Rioja Reserva Dominio de Ugarte 2003 : (close) This is really a wonderful example of Rioja at its very best. It is grown in the Las Mangadas vineyard, where the vines are over 50 years old. A blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano produces this fine wine which is aged in oak barrels for 12 months and bottled after 24 months. It is a rich deep ruby in colour, the bouquet is full, rich fruit with no oak showing. The palate is absolutely mouthfilling, clean, fresh with terrific balance and great length. A winner of many awards, including bronze at the Decanter world wine awards 2007 and silver at the European Mundus Vini 2007.
