Delivery Details
We use a variety of carriers depending on the weight and destination of the parcel. The parcels are clearly labelled with the recipient address and the personalised message is included on the address label.
Standard delivery
Parcels are delivered three to five working days after ordering. If you wish to order early to avoid disappointment then we are happy to send out orders at a later date. You can either select a named day service, or ring us on 01747 851515 to discuss your requirements. Standard delivery orders received between December 3rd and December 19th inclusive will be delivered in time for Christmas.
Next day delivery
Provided that you order before midday (GMT) we can normally despatch your gift on the same day for delivery on the following working day. Gifts ordered on a Friday will be delivered on a Monday. There is a £2 surcharge per parcel for this service. The next day service is not available for the Highlands, Islands or Overseas.
Named day delivery
Gifts can also be sent out for a specific delivery date – ideal for a birthday or other special occasion. There is a £2 surcharge per parcel for this service. As with next day deliveries, the named day service is not available for the Highlands, Islands or Overseas. We are able to offer a named day delivery service (subject to a surcharge of £2 per parcel) for parcels delivered up to and including 19th December which are ordered by 12.00 pm on Thursday 18th December.
In time for Christmas
We will deliver your gift before Christmas, typically between the 3rd and 19th December, however we are unable to confirm the specific delivery date.
Please note that the dates above are approximate and are subject to confirmation for our 2009 season.
Highlands, Islands and Overseas
We do not send fresh food items to Highlands, Islands or Overseas addresses as we cannot guarantee to our satisfaction that they will remain cold during the longer travel times.
Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands do not incur an extra charge but may take longer to arrive. Postcodes are AB31-56, IV1–39, IV57–63, KW1-14, PA20–40, PH4–50.
Deliveries to the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly incur a surcharge of £5. Postcodes are PO30-41, TR2-5.
Deliveries to Northern Ireland, The Isle of Man and the Scottish Islands incur a surcharge of £10. Postcodes are BT, IM, KA27-28, PA41-88, IV40-56, KW15-17, ZE, HS, PH42-44.
Deliveries to the Channel Islands incur a surcharge of £15. Postcodes are GY, JE.
We do not send parcels to BFPO addresses as we cannot track them or obtain a signature.
We can send hampers to any world wide destination. However, some countries place restrictions food items or alcohol, and it is not possible to track and guarantee deliveries in some parts of the world. If you would like to send a hamper overseas we are happy to discuss it with you and provide a quotation and advice. Overseas deliveries take a minimum of three days to arrive and we usually allow a week. We cannot specify a named day for overseas deliveries. Prices for overseas deliveries begin at £27.50. Please call us on 01747 851515 or contact us by email.
Loss or Damage
All our parcels are sent on insured signed for services. We guarantee to replace goods damaged in transit providing we are informed within 48 hours of delivery. Damaged goods may be refused on delivery and the carrier will return them. If the damage is not immediately evident they should be retained for inspection and returned at our expense if necessary. We will replace goods lost in transit provided that we are notified within 21 days of the required delivery date.
If nobody’s home…
If the recipient is not there to receive a parcel the carrier will leave a card with contact details so that redelivery or collection can be arranged. If you need the parcel to be redelivered to a different address then we will need to arrange this with the carrier, although extra charge may be incurred. If the carrier doesn't receive a response to the card, they will return the gift to us after five working days. However, they are required to notify us of any parcels that are not delivered so that we can try to resolve the issue before the parcel is returned. During the very busy Christmas period we instruct carriers to leave deliveries in a safe dry location and put a card through the door to say where the parcel has been left. For fresh food and larger hampers, see below.
Delayed Deliveries
We ask for recipient telephone numbers so that we can contact people directly in the event of a delivery issue. We do our best to check that addresses are valid but we can’t accept responsibility for late delivery of gifts in the event that the address is incomplete or incorrect. We are not responsible for late deliveries due to adverse weather conditions or other causes beyond our reasonable control. We are able to track all UK and most overseas deliveries.
Fresh Food and Larger Hampers
For fresh food gifts and larger hampers, we ask that you try and ensure that someone will be available to receive the gifts on delivery. Large parcels are too vulnerable to leave safely and chilled gifts need to be opened and refrigerated within 36 hours of despatch to ensure that the contents remain safe. We cannot guarantee that they will be kept cool if they are returned to the delivery depots overnight. We do not send fresh food items to Highlands, Islands or Overseas addresses as we cannot guarantee to our satisfaction that they will remain cold during the longer travel times. We do not send out gifts containing fresh food on a Friday.
