What is the BRC?
The BRC is a trade association dedicated to achieving successful and responsible retailing and spans all retail sectors such as food, electricals and clothing. It also covers bricks and mortar shops and online shops. It is a highly respected association that aims to ‘make a positive difference by advancing vibrant and consumer focused retail by standing for what is important to the industry and working in partnership with its members to shape debates and influence outcomes’.
What are the BRC Global Standards?
The BRC Global Standards are an internationally recognized safety and quality certification programme that has been developed by retailers and driven by retailers to help build confidence in the food safety industry. The standards have been designed to reflect best practice and facilitate a process of continuous improvement through well-designed risk-based product safety management systems.
Indeed, many retailers and brand owners will only ever do business with suppliers who hold an appropriate BRC accreditation.
